Write with us
Eastern Community welcomes pitches that help readers see neighbourhood life from a fresh, grounded angle. We are interested in clear explanations, considered comparisons, local customs and thoughtful ideas for making shared moments work well.
What makes a strong pitch
Send a short outline of the central idea, why it matters to readers and what the finished piece would cover. A strong pitch has a specific focus, a useful point of view and enough substance to be more than a list of general tips. Tell us what makes your approach distinct and what material or examples you expect to draw on.
Our approach to contributions
We value accessible writing that respects differences between communities and avoids treating one custom as universal. Pitches should be original, accurate and free of unsupported claims. We do not accept work that asks readers to rely on professional, official or local-rule advice disguised as general guidance.
Where to send a proposal
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your proposed title, a short outline and any relevant context. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; we will consider whether it fits the publication and its readers.
A community is made in the small moments
A familiar meeting place, a thoughtful invitation or a shared task can help neighbours find common ground. We look at the details that make those moments work.
